This Hazy IPA showcases a sophisticated bridge between New World intensity and continental elegance. The selection of Strata hops delivers a vibrant explosion of ripe melon and ruby red grapefruit, while the inclusion of Tettnanger adds a refined layer of white peppercorn and subtle floral spice. A base of soft, bready malts provides a cushioned platform for these complex aromatics. The mouthfeel is characteristically plush and smooth, leading to a gentle, off-dry finish where tropical fruit oils and a delicate earthy prickle linger without any harshness. It is a harmonious expression of the style, balancing juicy fruit character with nuanced herbal depth.
Appearance. Color is pale straw to deep gold (4–6 SRM). Opaque, hazy appearance with a soft, luminous glow. Topped by a dense, rocky, white head with excellent persistence and thick, tiered lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics dominated by fresh melon, passion fruit, and bright grapefruit zest from the Strata hops. A secondary, subtle spicy floral note of white peppercorn and dried herbs emerges from the Tettnanger. Malt is low, suggesting clean flour and light bread dough. Fermentation is clean with minor peach esters and no diacetyl.
Taste. Immediate impact of juicy tropical fruit and citrus. Mid-palate reveals cantaloupe and grapefruit flesh, followed by a distinctive white peppercorn spice that provides a dry counterpoint. Malt flavor is low and neutral-grainy. Bitterness is medium-low and very smooth, providing balance without sharp edges. The finish is clean and fruity with a lingering hint of herbal spice.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated at 7.2% ABV. Smooth, creamy mouth-coating quality with no hop burn or astringency.
