The inclusion of Mosaic provides deep layers of ripe peach and tropical papaya, while Wakatu adds a delicate, floral lift of orange blossom and citrus. A clean, neutral malt base allows these intense hop characters to take center stage without the interference of heavy caramel. Despite its 8.7% strength, the finish is remarkably dry and crisp, typical of the style's high drinkability. Expect a powerful but refined sensory experience where stone fruit and tropical resin dominate, supported by a firm, clean bitterness that lingers pleasantly on the palate.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper color. Pours with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with fine lacing. Clarity is good with a slight, modern haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of juicy peach, tropical papaya, and fragrant orange blossom. A clean, grainy, neutral malt character provides a subtle background, while the fermentation profile remains clean and neutral.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors dominated by peach, tropical papaya, and citrus-lime. The bitterness is firm and moderately high but smooth and lacking harshness. Low, unobtrusive malt character supports the hops, leading to a dry finish with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, well-integrated and free of any hop-derived astringency.
