Water Colors presents as a quintessential Hazy IPA, synthesizing a vibrant citrus profile with a distinctively dank undercurrent. Citra hops provide a bright burst of grapefruit and orange zest, while Simcoe introduces layers of passionfruit and subtle pine. The inclusion of Columbus anchors the aromatic profile with a pungent, cannabis-like earthiness that adds significant complexity to the tropical foundation. Pouring with an opaque, golden shine and a dense, meringue-like head, the palate is exceptionally soft. Expect a juice-forward experience where restrained bitterness allows the hop oils to shine, finishing with a gentle, bready malt sweetness and a clean, lingering citrus glow.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (4-7 SRM); opaque with a characteristic hazy shine; thick, rocky white head with high retention and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant grapefruit, orange, and passionfruit. A secondary, pungent layer of dank, earthy cannabis and resinous herbs is present. Malt is low, appearing as light bread or neutral grain. Fermentation is clean with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the citrus and tropical aroma. Initial impression is juicy and smooth. Low to moderate bitterness that is soft and never harsh. Low bready malt flavor provides a supportive backbone. Finish is off-dry and clean with a lingering resinous and citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Smooth without any hop astringency or harshness. Light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
