Outer Range’s Pastels is a quintessential Hazy IPA, showcasing a vibrant hop quartet of Motueka, Citra, El Dorado, and Mosaic. This pour radiates with a lush sensory profile defined by ripe cantaloupe, succulent mango, and bright pineapple. The aromatic intensity is high, blending citrus zest with deep tropical sweetness. On the palate, the hop-forward character is supported by a soft, bready malt backbone that maintains a smooth, pillowy texture. The finish is remarkably clean with a restrained bitterness that emphasizes fruit juice over resin, making for an approachable yet complex expression of modern hop science.

Appearance. Straw to light amber with a pronounced, opaque haze that creates a luminous glow. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and thick lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics of tropical and stone fruits dominate. Distinctive notes of ripe mango and sweet pineapple from Mosaic and El Dorado are complemented by a bright lime citrus lift from Motueka. A clean, lightly bready and grainy malt presence sits in the background, entirely free of caramel or toast.

Taste. Massive tropical fruit flavors of cantaloupe and mango lead the initial impression, followed by a secondary wave of pineapple and citrus. The malt provides a neutral, soft, bready platform. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low-to-medium due to the soft mouthfeel, finishing off-dry and clean without any hop harshness or astringency.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a characteristically soft, smooth, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is a very subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no evidence of starchiness.
