This modern take on a German Pils showcases a vibrant, new-age hop profile while maintaining a classic lager structure. Built on a clean foundation of Pilsner malt, it features the intense tropical fruit and citrus zest characteristics of Citra, Mosaic, and Idaho 7 hops. Expect a crisp, refreshing, and highly crushable experience where the traditional dry, bitter finish of a lager meets a wave of mixed tropical fruit. The bright flavours are balanced by a clean fermentation profile, making Sun Spots a hop-forward interpretation that bridges European tradition with West Coast aromatic intensity.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (2-4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves delicate lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high intensity, dominated by New World hop character. Bright notes of grapefruit zest, mango, and passion fruit are supported by a low, grainy-sweet malt backbone. Clean fermentation profile with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial soft, grainy malt sweetness is quickly overtaken by a firm hop bitterness and flavors of citrus peel and tropical fruit. High bitterness is well-integrated, leading to a bone-dry, crisp finish. Minerally notes accentuate the dry aftertaste.
