This collaborative Double IPA revives the spirit of exploration with a concentrated hop profile driven by Nectaron Cryo and Motueka Cryo. The sensory experience is defined by an explosion of ripe stone fruit, crushed lime, and tropical pineapple, reflective of these modern hop products. A lean, neutral malt base allows the intense saturation of Nectaron and Motueka to take center stage, offering a bright, punchy character. Despite its 8.5% ABV, the beer remains remarkably drinkable, finishing with a crisp, firm bitterness and a lingering citrus resin that invites another sip, bridging the gap between classic intensity and modern aromatic depth.
Appearance. Light orange to gold (8-10 SRM) with a persistent, dense white head. While the style allows for clarity, this modern version features a significant, soft haze and opaque glow typical of the brewery's profile.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring potent waves of nectarine, peach, and pineapple from the Nectaron Cryo, complemented by a zesty lime and mojito-like character from Motueka Cryo. Background malt is clean and neutral, suggesting crackers or white bread with a light, fruity fermentation profile.
Taste. Dominant tropical fruit flavors of passion fruit and lime zest lead into a stone fruit middle. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks any harshness. The malt provides a soft, bready support without adding heavy sweetness. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a long, resinous, and intensely fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture enhanced by the high hop concentration. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present in the throat but remains smooth and non-solventy.
