Patchwork V3 presents an olfactory tapestry woven with the distinctive character of hand-selected Mosaic hops, delivering vibrant notes of blueberry and tropical mango. This profile is further enriched by an Australian duo of Vic Secret and Galaxy, which contribute layers of crushed pineapple, passionfruit, and bright citrus zest. At 8.2% ABV, the beer carries a gentle, integrated warmth that supports the intense hop saturation without becoming solventy. While maintaining the powerful bitterness expected of a Double IPA, the malt remains a clean, soft background player, ensuring the complex hop oils remain the primary focus through a crisp, dry, and resinous finish.
Appearance. SRM 6-8. Deep gold to light orange with a slight haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by complex tropical fruit and berry notes from Mosaic, specifically blueberry and papaya. Vic Secret and Galaxy provide sharp citrus, passionfruit, and a hint of herbal pine. Malt is very low, neutral, and cracker-like, with a clean fermentation profile and a subtle hint of alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression of punchy tropical fruit, moving into resinous pine and citrus peel. The Mosaic contributes dark berry and mango flavors, while Vic Secret and Galaxy offer intense pineapple and lime. Bitterness is firm and high but remains smooth rather than harsh. The malt flavor is low, providing neutral grainy support. Finishes dry with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A noticeable but well-restrained alcohol warmth is present, without any hop-derived astringency.
