Imperial IPA 8 º
This Double IPA is a vibrant showcase of modern hop intensity, lead by a potent trio of Citra, Bru-1, and El Dorado. Expect a sensory journey through layers of ripe pineapple and pungent tropical fruit, anchored by a bright citrus backbone. The soft malt profile is intentionally subtle, allowing the aggressive hop character to remain the focal point throughout the experience. While the strength is evident through a gentle, warming alcohol presence, the beer maintains high drinkability with a clean, dry finish. It is a bold, hop-saturated expression that balances massive fruit-forward aromatics with a firm, integrated bitterness.
Appearance. Light gold to pale orange (7 SRM); thick, persistent white head with excellent lacing; mostly clear with a very slight, modern haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple and stone fruit from Bru-1 and El Dorado, alongside sharp grapefruit and lime zest from Citra. A neutral, low-intensity grainy malt presence supports the hops. Clean fermentation with no esters and a light, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of tropical fruit punch, mango, and melon dominate. Initial impression is fruity and bright, followed by a firm, moderately high bitterness that is smooth rather than harsh. A low, clean malt character provides a soft bready foundation. Finishes medium-dry and clean with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth that remains smooth. No hop-derived astringency.
