This Double IPA showcases a vibrant and punchy sensory profile, utilizing the concentrated intensity of Citra, Amarillo, and Mosaic cryo pellets alongside El Dorado and Galaxy. The experience is defined by an exceptionally bright hop character, delivering layers of ripe passionfruit, citrus zest, and peach without the aggressive vegetal notes often found in heavily hopped ales. A soft, clean malt presence provides a sturdy foundation for the complex hop saturation. At 8.5% ABV, it maintains a smooth, well-integrated strength, finishing with a balanced bitterness and a lingering, fruity resinous quality that remains remarkably clean and drinkable.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange with a moderate haze. Topped by a persistent, creamy off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy tropical notes of mango and passionfruit, layered with bright citrus, stone fruit, and a refined resinous dankness. Malt is low and neutral, offering a light bready support beneath the hops.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, and peach dominate the initial impression. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but remains smooth and free of harshness. A clean, soft malt character balances the hop saturation, leading to a medium-dry finish with a lingering tropical and citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, restrained alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
