This American IPA presents a vibrant evolution of the style, showcasing a high-intensity hop profile driven by Citra, Simcoe, and Galaxy. The sensory experience is defined by a rush of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and a distinct resinous, piney edge. A clean, supporting malt backbone ensures the hop character remains the focal point without overbearing sweetness. The finish is notably dry and crisp, leaving a lingering, refreshing bitterness typical of the style. It balances modern fruit-forward intensity with a classic, structured bitterness, resulting in an exceptionally bright and punchy ale that emphasizes hop freshness and aromatic complexity.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber color (7-9 SRM). Brilliantly clear with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit and lime from Citra, coupled with the passion fruit and peach nuances of Galaxy. A resinous, piney undercurrent from Simcoe is evident. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt provides a neutral base, while fermentation is clean with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a punch of tropical and citrus fruit flavor, transitioning quickly into a firm, piney bitterness. Low, bready malt supports the hops without adding significant caramel or sweetness. High bitterness is clean and assertive. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp bite. A very subtle, smooth alcohol warmth is present, well-integrated with the hop bitterness.
