Ossett Brewery’s Barbe Rouge presents a modern, hop-forward interpretation of an Ordinary Bitter, balancing traditional British drinkability with distinctive French aromatics. The sensory experience is defined by the Barbe Rouge hops, which impart unique notes of ripe strawberry, red currant, and a touch of herbal refinement. Beneath this fruity top note lies a solid foundation of bready and lightly toasted malts, providing a crisp, biscuit-like backbone. The beer finishes remarkably clean with a firm, drying bitterness that invites another sip. Appearance. Pale amber to light copper with brilliant clarity. Pours with a low to moderate off-white head that shows fair retention and leaves light lacing.
