This Double IPA delivers a powerhouse sensory experience, driven by the concentrated intensity of Cryo hops. The aroma is dominated by vibrant bursts of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and resinous pine, typical of modern high-gravity ales. While the hop character is assertive, the addition of lactose provides a distinctive rounding effect, transforming the texture into a silky, velvety mouthfeel that tames the high bitterness. Despite its 8.5% ABV, the beer maintains a remarkable balance, blending clean, neutral malt support with a lingering, fruit-forward finish. It is a sophisticated, powerful expression of the style, emphasizing hop saturation and a lush, polished drinkability.

Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper (SRM 8-10) with a slight haze typical of heavily dry-hopped modern versions. It is topped by a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Aroma intensity is high, featuring an explosive hop profile of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright grapefruit zest. A subtle background of clean, grainy malt and a hint of creamy sweetness from the lactose support the hops without distraction. Low, clean alcohol notes are present but not solventy.

Taste. The initial impression is a wave of resinous and tropical hop flavors, followed by a firm, moderately high bitterness that avoids harshness. The malt character is unobtrusive and clean, while the lactose adds a soft, creamy sweetness that balances the hop bite. The finish is medium-dry with a long, fruity, and pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
