This Double IPA is a collaboration with Stigbergets that pushes hop expression to its peak while maintaining impeccable balance. The massive dry-hop featuring Sabro, Mosaic, Ekuanot, Idaho 7, and Cashmere creates a complex tapestry of ripe mango, pineapple, and zesty citrus. Sabro provides a signature creamy coconut undertone that softens the profile and adds depth. Despite the 8.4% ABV, the alcohol is seamlessly integrated into a silky, broad frame. It delivers a punchy tropical intensity with a refined, smooth finish, showcasing the maximum expression of modern hop varieties without the aggressive or harsh bite often associated with high-strength ales.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7-9 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing. While the style allows clarity, this version displays a modern slight haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit, including mango and papaya, alongside bright tangerine citrus. Notable creamy coconut and stone fruit notes from the blend of Sabro and Mosaic. Malt is neutral and supportive in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of pineapple, lime zest, and melon. Low to medium grainy-sweet malt character supports the massive hop load. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but smooth and never harsh. Finish is medium-dry with a lingering, resinous tropical hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a distinctively silky, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol warmth is light and pleasant, providing a gentle glow without being solventy or hot. Low astringency.
