Cowabunga is a vibrant Berliner Weisse that captures a coastal rush of fruit and acidity. While traditional in its clean lactic snap, this expression is amplified by a massive addition of cherry and raspberry. The cherry delivers a sharp, piquant edge that cuts through the light, doughy wheat malt base, while the raspberry rounds out the profile with soft, aromatic berry notes. At 6% ABV, it carries more presence and body than a standard version but maintains a crisp, effervescent, and bone-dry finish. Expect a refreshing, juicy explosion of red fruit that breaks like a wave over a clean, sourdough-tinged foundation.

Appearance. Pours a vibrant, hazy magenta to deep red (SRM 15-20) with a large, dense, pink-tinted head that shows poor retention. Highly effervescent with visible carbonation bubbles rising quickly.

Aroma. High intensity of sharply sour lactic acid. Dominant fruit character of tart, freshly picked cherries and aromatic, jammy raspberries. A faint, underlying sourdough and raw bread dough malt character is present, with no hop aroma or diacetyl.

Taste. Initial impression is a clean, sharp lactic sourness that dominates the palate. Intense flavors of tart cherry and soft raspberry provide a juicy, fruited depth. A light, grainy, doughy wheat malt flavor supports the acidity. Bitterness is undetectable, with the sourness providing total balance. Finishes very dry and crisp with a lingering red berry tartness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body that avoids being thin due to the increased alcohol content. Very high carbonation providing a sparkling, prickly sensation. Crisp acidity with a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no detectable astringency.
