This Double IPA captures a cosmic intensity, radiating a saturated hop profile fueled by the expressive combination of Mosaic and Idaho-7. A bold wave of ripe mango and syrupy pineapple defines the initial sensory impact, seamlessly transitioning into a structured resinous core of dank pine and subtle peppercorn spice. Despite its potent 8.5% strength, the beer maintains a lean, supportive malt backbone that stays out of the way of the hop pyrotechnics. It is an intoxicating, heady experience where tropical sweetness is tempered by a firm bitterness, finishing clean and dangerously drinkable for its stature.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper with a slight, modern haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma dominated by tropical fruit notes of mango and pineapple. Secondary notes include resinous pine and a light, peppery spice. Malt is very low and neutral, providing a clean, grainy backdrop with a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit sweetness, quickly balanced by a high, firm bitterness. Flavors of mango, pineapple, and pine needle persist through the mid-palate. Malt character is soft and unobtrusive, allowing the hop complexity to shine. The finish is medium-dry and crisp with a long-lingering, clean hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. Includes a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harsh astringency.
