Appearance. Pale gold (6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a large, frothy white head that exhibits excellent persistence and leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime zest, and tropical passion fruit from the Citra hops, complemented by a distinct resinous and piney character from the Simcoe. Malt is very low and neutral, providing a faint crackery scent. Fermentation profile is extremely clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is sharply hoppy and dry. Hop flavors mirror the aroma with layers of citrus peel, crushed pine needles, and subtle mango. Malt flavor is low and grainy-sweet, further lightened by the rice. Bitterness is firm and high but remains clean and never harsh. The finish is very dry and crisp, with a lingering, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a lean, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a refreshing, prickly sensation. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but integrated. Finishes without any astringency.
