BALG is a highly sessionable Witbier that balances the traditional rusticity of unmalted wheat with a vibrant botanical profile. Despite its lower alcohol content, the beer maintains a satisfying bready foundation typical of the style, complemented by delicate notes of honey and vanilla. The classic Belgian wit yeast provides a subtle spicy backdrop, while additions of crushed coriander seeds and orange peel offer bright, lemony-zesty top notes. It pours with a signature milky-white haze and a persistent moussy head, delivering a crisp, effervescent, and remarkably refreshing finish that defines this summer staple while remaining light and approachable.
Appearance. Very pale straw to light yellow (2-3 SRM). Exceptionally cloudy with a milky, whitish-yellow shine from starch haze and yeast. Topped by a dense, white, moussy head with good retention.
Aroma. Moderate bready maltiness with light notes of vanilla and grainy wheat. Features moderate perfumy-lemony coriander aromatics alongside zesty, citrusy-orange fruitiness and a low peppery fermentation character. Hop aroma is absent.
Taste. Pleasant bready and grainy malt flavors with a hint of honey. Moderate zesty orange citrus and herbal-spicy coriander are well-balanced against a low hop bitterness. The profile is refreshingly crisp with a very dry finish and no harsh aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a notable smoothness and light creaminess from the unmalted wheat. High carbonation provides an effervescent, refreshing character. No alcohol warmth or astringency.
