Ophiussa Sakura is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures the sensory essence of a blossoming orchard. This double dry-hopped offering features the bold synergy of Citra and Motueka hops, resulting in an aromatic explosion of ripe citrus and fresh lime zest. Tropical notes and floral whispers dance across a soft, glowing body, providing a profile that is both punchy and delicate. The hazy, luminous appearance invites a sip that reveals layers of stone fruit and orchard-inspired vibes, balanced by a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel. It is a modern, hop-forward expression where intense fruit character meets effortless drinkability and a refined finish.
Appearance. Deep straw to pale gold (4-6 SRM) with a luminous, opaque haze and a characteristic shine. It is topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick, trailing lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by vibrant citrus and tropical fruits. Specific notes of fresh lime zest and ripe orange are prominent, supported by a tropical orchard character of peach and mango. A clean, lightly bready and grainy malt presence sits in the background with fruity fermentation esters that complement the hops.
Taste. Initial impression is a punch of fruity hop flavor featuring zesty lime, sweet tangerine, and tropical stone fruit. Low to moderate malt flavor provides a neutral, bready foundation. Bitterness is restrained and smooth, never harsh, allowing the juicy hop character to lead. The finish is off-dry and clean with a lingering, soft citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy body with a soft, smooth, and lush texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its strength, but it remains free of astringency or hop burn.
