Ophiussa Brewing Co.

This celebratory Double IPA radiates with the intensity of its 10% ABV, delivering a lush, saturated hop experience. The addition of Nectaron and Superdelic hops creates a massive wave of ripe tropical fruit and stone fruit, while Riwaka provides piercing citrus aromatics and a subtle, dank complexity. Despite its strength, the beer maintains a characteristic lean malt profile, allowing the vibrant hop oils to remain the focal point. These piercing aromatics lead into a bold, resinous finish that captures the unapologetic power of a Triple IPA while adhering to the dry, drinkable balance expected of the Double IPA style.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange with a slight haze. Boasts a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with significant lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent passion fruit and nectarine from Nectaron, layered with candied citrus and tropical berry notes from Superdelic. Riwaka adds a piercing grapefruit and light resinous edge. Low, neutral, grainy malt in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.

Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of peach, mango, and citrus dominate the palate. High bitterness that is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. Low, clean, supportive malt character allows for a dry to medium-dry finish. The aftertaste is long and hoppy with a clean, lingering bitterness and a touch of fruitiness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, lush texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its high strength, without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
