Imperial IPA 8 º
This Double IPA is a saturated sensory exploration, showcasing a massive body and an exceptionally soft texture. The aroma is dominated by a heavy double dry-hop addition of Citra, Azacca, and El Dorado, yielding intense layers of tropical fruit, ripe mango, and bright citrus. The palate follows suit, offering a lush, juice-like experience where the resinous hop saturation is balanced by a subtle, clean malt backbone. Despite its 8% ABV strength, the finish remains smooth and drinkable, emphasizing the vibrant fruit-forward profile of the specific hop varieties over aggressive bitterness, delivering a focused experience of pure lupulin euphoria.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-10 SRM) with a significant, opaque haze. Features a thick, persistent, mousse-like white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Explosive hop-forward bouquet of tropical pineapple and mango from the El Dorado, zesty lime and grapefruit from the Citra, and ripe stone fruit from the Azacca. Malt is low and neutral, providing light crackery support. Fermentation is clean with very low esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a rush of tropical fruit juice and citrus oils. Malt flavor is low, primarily light bread and grain, allowing the Citra, Azacca, and El Dorado hops to lead. Bitterness is firm but expertly integrated and soft, lacking any harshness or resinous bite. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering nectar-like fruitiness and a clean, subtle alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a notably massive and creamy, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but smooth and well-integrated alcohol warmth. Very low hop-derived astringency.
