This vibrant American IPA showcases a sophisticated transcontinental hop pairing. The southern hemisphere Nectaron provides a lush foundation of sun-ripened passionfruit and pineapple, while the UK-grown Harlequin adds delicate layers of sweet peach. Despite its hazy, plush appearance, the beer maintains the characteristic hop-forward focus of the style, balanced by a clean, grainy malt backbone. The fermentation is neutral, allowing the multifaceted tropical fruit and stone fruit esters to lead the experience. It finishes with a refreshing dryness and a firm, clean bitterness that highlights the modern, new-wave hop character without overwhelming the palate, creating a highly drinkable, wanderlust-inspired slider.
Appearance. Medium gold (7 SRM). Hazy appearance with a medium-sized, white, persistent head that leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring intense tropical fruit notes of pineapple and passionfruit alongside distinct peach and subtle melon. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a supportive base. Fermentation profile is clean with only light fruit esters present.
Taste. The initial impression is dominated by high hop flavors of passionfruit, peach, and tropical pineapple. A low, grainy-sweet malt character supports the hops without adding caramel or toast. Medium-high bitterness is clean and well-integrated. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste and a crisp, bitter snap.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, plush texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively mouthfeel. No astringency is present, and there is a very light, smooth alcohol warmth appropriate for the strength.
