OneTwo Stout in the Jar is a soulful Irish Stout that captures the spirit of tradition with a robust, velvety profile. Deeply roasted malts drive the sensory experience, offering intense aromas of fresh-ground coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate. The addition of flaked barley imparts a luxurious, smooth texture that carries a delicate malty sweetness across the palate. This richness is elegantly countered by the traditional earthy and floral notes of East Kent Goldings hops, providing a firm, balanced bitterness. The result is a clean yet complex stout with a lingering roasted finish, echoing the timeless character of a classic Irish pub staple.
Appearance. Jet black to deep brown with distinct garnet and ruby highlights. It displays a thick, persistent, tan-colored head with excellent retention and creamy lacing. Opaque.
Aroma. Moderate coffee-like intensity dominates the nose, complemented by secondary notes of cocoa and roasted malts. A low earthy and floral hop character from East Kent Goldings is present. Very low fruity esters.
Taste. The palate opens with moderate roasted grain and bittersweet dark chocolate flavors. A firm hop bitterness, supported by the earthy qualities of East Kent Goldings, balances the initial malty sweetness. The finish is dry and coffee-like with a clean, lingering roasted aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a characteristic velvety and creamy texture derived from the flaked barley. Carbonation is low to moderate. Remarkably smooth with a very light, well-managed grain astringency and a subtle touch of alcohol warmth.
