This Hazy IPA presents a vibrant sensory profile defined by the tropical intensity of experimental HBC 1019 hops. An explosion of ripe pineapple and bright citrus is layered with soft stone fruit, creating a lush, fruit-forward core. The addition of cannabis-inspired botanical terpenes introduces a complex aromatic layer, contributing a funky, spicy, and earthy edge that provides a sophisticated counterpoint to the juice-like sweetness. Supported by a clean, grainy malt backbone, the beer is remarkably silky-smooth on the palate. It concludes with a gentle, restrained bitterness and a laid-back finish that emphasizes its tropical and herbal complexity.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine; no visible particulates. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant fresh pineapple, nectarine, and citrus zest. A distinct botanical terpene influence adds a resinous, spicy, and earthy funk. Malt is low and neutral-grainy, while fermentation esters provide a supportive peach-like character.
Taste. High hop flavor of pineapple punch and mandarin orange. The mid-palate reveals the botanical terpenes' spicy, herbal, and slightly resinous depth. Low to medium-low bitterness is exceptionally soft and well-integrated. Malt flavor is low, suggesting bready flour. Finishes off-dry and smooth with a lingering tropical and dank aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notably silky-smooth, almost creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. No alcohol warmth or hop harshness; zero astringency.
