This Hazy IPA showcases the rare Ahhhroma hop variety, delivering an intense aromatic profile defined by lush tropical fruit. Dominated by vibrant notes of ripe pineapple and delicate pear, the sensory experience is deeply juicy and saturated. A supportive, lightly bready malt backbone provides a soft platform for the massive oil content of the Ahhhroma hops to shine. While the initial impression is a burst of fruit sweetness, a subtle bitter punch emerges in the finish to provide balance without harshness. Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze that provides a luminous shine. It is topped by a persistent, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with bold tropical fruit, specifically sweet pineapple and distinct notes of orchard pear. A clean, bready, and slightly grainy malt character sits in the background, complemented by a neutral fermentation profile that allows the hop oils to remain the primary focus.
Taste. An immediate wave of tropical fruit flavor mirrors the aroma, highlighting pineapple and pear with high intensity. The malt flavor is low, providing a simple bready support. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft, rounding out the profile with a gentle punch that leads into a smooth, off-dry finish without any hop harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, soft texture and no astringency. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a plush mouthfeel. A faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but subtle.
