This celebratory Black IPA presents a complex interplay between punchy New Zealand hops and a subtle, dark malt backbone. The high ABV of 8% provides a sturdy platform for the vibrant tropical fruit and lime zest notes typical of southern hemisphere varieties, which cut through the delicate cocoa and toasted nuances of light chocolate-roasted malts. It drinks with the assertive bitterness and dry finish of a Double IPA, yet maintains a smooth, velvety profile that avoids any harsh, acrid char.
