OneTwo 25 - Citra Talus DDH NEIPA
OneTwo 25 is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures the essence of a modern double dry-hopped ale. Pouring a luminous, opaque gold, it immediately releases an intense perfume of pink grapefruit and tropical zest, driven by the heavy use of Citra and Talus hops. The Citra provides a sharp citrus backbone, while Talus introduces complex layers of ruby grapefruit and resinous pine hints. On the palate, a soft, pillowy malt base allows these bold hop notes to shine without the interference of heavy bitterness. It finishes smooth and juicy, leaving a lingering impression of citrus pith and a whisper of floral sweetness.
Appearance. Straw to golden-orange (4-6 SRM) with a characteristically opaque, luminous haze. It is topped by a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of pink grapefruit, citrus zest, and tropical fruit from the Citra hops, complemented by the distinct piney and floral hints of Talus. The malt character is low and neutral, presenting as light bread or grain, while the fermentation profile is clean with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. The flavor is dominated by an explosion of juicy hop character, mirroring the aroma with intense grapefruit, citrus, and resinous pine. Malt flavor is low, providing a supportive grainy sweetness that balances a moderate but smooth bitterness. The finish is off-dry and clean, with a lingering fruit-forward aftertaste that avoids any hop harshness or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, soft body with a characteristic smooth and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the drinkability. At 7% alcohol, there is a gentle, well-integrated warmth that adds to the overall presence without becoming hot or distracting.
