One Drop Brewing Co Westside Bounce

This bright and modern American IPA, a collaboration with South O Brewing, captures the essence of a contemporary West Coast profile. A lean, crackery malt base provides a clean canvas for the high-intensity hop additions to shine. Aromas of resinous pine and citrus from Simcoe CRYO® mingle with the distinctive white grape and crushed gooseberry notes of Nelson Sauvin. The addition of HBC 394 cv contributes vibrant layers of grapefruit and tropical stone fruit. On the palate, it delivers a firm, clean bitterness that leads into a snappy, bone-dry finish. This easy-sipping ale emphasizes hop brilliance with a crisp, refreshing character and exceptional clarity.
Appearance. Color is pale gold (approx 6 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a medium-sized, bright white head that shows good persistence and leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, passion fruit, and white wine grapes. A secondary layer of resinous pine and damp earth follows. Malt character is very low, presenting as clean, neutral grain. Fermentation is extremely clean with no detectable esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors, specifically mango and grapefruit pith. Mid-palate reveals the white wine character of Nelson Sauvin. Bitterness is medium-high to high but remains clean and never harsh. The malt is supportive but minimal, offering a dry, crackery foundation. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, lean texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, enhancing the crispness. There is no astringency and only a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
