Sky Way is a vibrant Hazy IPA that serves as a sensory showcase for New Zealand’s Rakau hops, specifically sourced from Eggers and Freestyle farms. The profile is dominated by high-intensity aromas of ripe stone fruit, notably apricot and peach, bolstered by a concentrated tropical burst from Rakau Hopkief. A touch of Nelson Sauvin introduces nuanced layers of white grape and crushed gooseberry, while a subtle resinous pine provides depth. The malt bill remains supportive and bready, allowing the lush hop character to lead. This expression emphasizes a soft, plush palate and restrained bitterness, delivering a juice-like experience consistent with the brewer's intent.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (3–6 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a luminous, healthy shine. Thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring dominant apricot, peach, and tropical fruit notes. Distinctive pine resin and subtle white grape esters are present. Malt is neutral, clean, and lightly bready in the background; no caramel or toast. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. Very high fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma, led by apricot and tropical citrus. Low to medium-low bitterness that is smooth and never sharp. Malt provides a soft, grainy sweetness that balances the hop intensity. The finish is off-dry and medium, with a lingering stone fruit and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No astringency or harshness; avoids a raw starch or heavy cream texture.
