This Hazy IPA presents an explosive sensory profile driven by a complex blend of Southern Hemisphere and experimental hops. A lean malt foundation allows the specific characters of Riwaka and Vic Secret to shine, offering a base of tropical intensity. The heavy dry-hop additions of Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic CRYO®, and HBC1019 deliver a multidimensional bouquet featuring Valencia oranges, caramelized bananas, and ripe peaches. Subtle nuances of coconut and honeydew melon emerge against a soft, juicy backdrop. The finish is remarkably smooth, prioritizing lush fruit expression and a modern, nose candy aromatic punch over assertive bitterness.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a luminous shine. Thick, meringue-like white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by a kaleidoscope of tropical fruit: passion fruit, crushed gooseberry, and mango. Distinctive notes of coconut and candied orange peel are prominent. Background malt is neutral, reminiscent of white bread dough or raw grain. No diacetyl or harsh hop burn.
Taste. Initial impact is a wave of sweet tropical juice including peach, melon, and citrus. Hop flavors are massive, mirroring the aroma with layers of pineapple and orange julius. Bitterness is low to medium-low, softly integrated to balance the fruitiness without lingering. The malt provides a subtle, bready support. The finish is off-dry and clean, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit salad and light coconut.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, plush texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to the juicy mouthfeel. No astringency or hop bite. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated.
