This Straight Sour Beer offers a vibrant, decadent sensory experience, merging a crisp lactic base with a massive fruit profile. Aromas of ripe strawberry and jammy blueberry lead into a concentrated burst of tart blackcurrant. The addition of bubble gum ice cream introduces a nostalgic, creamy confectionery sweetness that balances the sharp acidity. Visually striking with a deep berry hue, the palate is saturated with dark fruit notes and a velvety vanilla undertone. Despite the high ABV, the finish remains surprisingly nimble, leaving a lingering impression of mixed berry coulis and classic pink bubble gum.
Appearance. Deep, opaque magenta to dark purple with a thick, vibrant pink head that leaves a creamy lacing; appearance is reminiscent of a fruit smoothie or puree.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant notes of macerated strawberry, blueberry jam, and tart blackcurrant berries. Secondary aromas of sweet bubble gum, vanilla bean, and a faint hint of bready malt behind the heavy fruit load.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, clean lactic tang immediately followed by an explosion of dark berry sweetness. Significant blueberry and blackcurrant flavors are tempered by a creamy bubble gum ice cream mid-palate. No hop bitterness is present. The finish is off-dry and jammy with a lingering berry tartness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, thick texture from the fruit solids and ice cream additions. Moderate carbonation provides a slight lift to the heavy palate. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth.
