RED EYE is a vibrant Specialty IPA that balances a robust New Zealand malt base with a modern, explosive hop profile. Its deep crimson hue leads into a complex bouquet where resinous Simcoe and tropical Riwaka hops shine. The addition of CRYO POP enhances the aromatic intensity, offering waves of passionfruit, citrus, and stone fruit. On the palate, a comforting backbone of specialty grains provides toasty, caramel-like sweetness that supports a slightly restrained bitterness. This Red IPA delivers a velvety mouthfeel and a lingering, fruity finish, showcasing the harmony between heritage malts and bold, contemporary dry-hopping techniques.
Appearance. Deep amber to brilliant crimson (14–20 SRM). Topped with a dense, creamy, off-white to light tan head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves intricate lacing. Generally clear, though a slight haze may be present from the heavy dry hopping.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring piney resin, grapefruit, and dank earthiness from Simcoe, complemented by the tropical punch of passionfruit and lime from Riwaka. A distinct stone fruit and tropical candy character emerges from the CRYO POP. The malt character is moderate, providing a foundation of toasted bread and light caramel.
Taste. Initial impression is a rich, bready malt sweetness followed quickly by layered hop flavors of citrus peel, resin, and tropical melon. The malt flavor is significant, offering biscuit and dark caramel notes without being cloying. Bitterness is moderate and firm, yet feels restrained against the heavy malt base. The finish is clean and slightly off-dry with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a gentle lift. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, adding to the comforting character. Very low astringency.
