One Drop Brewing Co

Lay Low is a vibrant Hazy IPA defined by its saturated tropical profile and pillowy texture. A significant addition of spelt in the grist provides a substantial, velvety canvas for a massive trio of hops. Fresh Peacharine delivers intense notes of ripe nectarine and peach, while US Citra adds layers of bright citrus and mango. Hand-selected Eggers Riwaka provides a distinctively pungent passionfruit punch. The house hazy yeast enhances these esters, resulting in a lush, cloud-like experience. Expect a soft, integrated bitterness that allows the stone fruit and tropical character to remain the focal point through a clean, smooth finish.

Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM). Opaque with a consistent, glowing haze. Topped with a dense, white, rocky head that shows excellent retention and thick lacing.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex bouquet of ripe peach, juicy nectarine, and passionfruit. Secondary notes of mango, grapefruit, and a light citrus zest. The malt presence is low and bready, while the yeast contributes supportive fruity esters.

Taste. Immediate impact of tropical and stone fruit, echoing the Peacharine and Riwaka hop profiles. Flavors of apricot, passionfruit, and sweet citrus from the Citra hops dominate. The malt backbone is soft and bready from the spelt. Bitterness is low-moderate and exceptionally smooth, leading to an off-dry, fruit-forward finish.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably luscious, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a soft lift. There is a very faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harshness or astringency.
