This Double IPA presents a saturated sensory experience inspired by high-intensity American brewing. A thick, luscious foundation of extra pale malt and a massive 50% oat adjunct addition supports a staggering 35g/L dry hop load. Intense aromatics of tropical passion fruit and zesty lime from Citra and Citra CRYO lead the charge, followed by the complex stone fruit notes of Nectarom CRYO and the distinctive white wine and crushed gooseberry character of hand-selected Nelson Sauvin. Despite its creamy, oat-driven weight, it maintains a clean fermentation profile, finishing with a firm, integrated bitterness that balances the 8% ABV warmth.
Appearance. Pale gold to light yellow (5-7 SRM); persistent, dense white head with excellent lacing; hazy to nearly opaque due to exceptionally high oat content.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit), citrus (grapefruit, lime), and distinctive white grape/gooseberry notes. Clean, neutral, grainy malt background with a faint hint of sweet oats; no solventy alcohol notes.
Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of lime, stone fruit, and melon. Moderately high bitterness that is firm but smooth. Low neutral malt presence allows the Nelson Sauvin and Citra hop oils to dominate. Medium-dry, lingering fruity finish with a clean aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, luscious texture from the heavy oat grist. Moderate carbonation with noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth and no harsh hop-derived astringency.
