Absolute Brightness is an expressive Double IPA that radiates with a vibrant array of Southern Hemisphere and classic hops. Intensely aromatic, it leads with dominant notes of tropical mango and mixed berries from the Mosaic hops, coupled with a bright splash of fresh lime and lemon zest courtesy of Motueka. Kohatu hops introduce a distinct undertone of ripe stone fruit and pine, while US Golding rounds out the profile with a gentle, herbal earthiness. Supported by a soft, clean malt backbone, this modern interpretation delivers a massive hop punch with a smoothly integrated, soft alcohol presence.
Appearance. Pale straw to deep gold in color (4-6 SRM). Featuring a dense, hazy to opaque clarity with a thick, long-lasting, frothy white head that leaves beautiful, persistent lacing down the glass.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma of tropical fruits (mango, papaya), bright citrus (lime zest, grapefruit), and stone fruits (peach, apricot), accompanied by a light, earthy pine undertone. Malt character is low and unobtrusive, showing light bready sweetness. Fermentation is clean with minor fruit esters and a very gentle, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. The initial impression is an explosion of tropical and citrus hop flavors, following the aroma closely. Low, supportive, bready malt flavor provides a soft canvas. Bittering is moderately high but remarkably smooth and well-integrated, balancing the rich hop oils. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering aftertaste of juicy citrus, resinous pine, and tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, soft, and remarkably smooth with a velvety, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, without any harshness or hop-derived astringency.
