This Imperial Stout presents a sophisticated sensory profile derived from a complex blend of six distinct malts. The initial impression is dominated by an inviting, creamy tan head and a rich bouquet of dark chocolate and aromatic vanilla. On the palate, the intricate malt bill delivers a deep, layered sweetness reminiscent of cocoa and toasted grain, which is softened by the smooth integration of vanilla beans. Despite its historical lineage of high-gravity exports, the bitterness remains discreet and pleasant, providing a balanced counterpoint to the beer's full-bodied texture. A moderate alcohol presence provides a gentle, well-integrated warmth that enhances the velvety finish.

Appearance. Opaque, jet black with deep reddish-brown highlights at the edges. Features a thick, creamy, deep tan head with excellent retention and significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of bittersweet chocolate and sweet vanilla. Secondary notes of roasted coffee, toasted bread, and a subtle hint of dark dried fruit. Hop aroma is very low and earthy.

Taste. Initial flavors of rich chocolate and vanilla are supported by a complex malt backbone showing notes of cocoa and mild roast. Bitterness is moderate and restrained, allowing the malt sweetness to linger. The finish is smooth and clean with an aftertaste of dark grain and subtle warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied with a viscous, velvety, and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout without being sharp or hot.

Esta excelente IMPERIAL STOUT de origen Vasco se basa en la legendariacerveza Lager originaria de Inglaterra, una variante de la Stout cuya peculiaridad reside en la mayor concetración de lúpulo y alcohol. Se elaboraba para el envío a la Rusía de los zares, donde la cerveza oscura y amarga era bien apreciada. Era esa mayor concetración de lúpulo y alcohol la que evitaba su congelación en el trayecto.
Nota de cata:fruto de la combinación de seis maltas distintas, nace esta cerveza de espuma cremosa y aroma y sabor a chocolate y vainilla. Su toque amargo es discreto y agradable.
