Ogopogo Brewing Harmonia
Harmonia is a vibrant Weissbier that balances traditional Bavarian yeast character with a luscious tropical twist. The sensory experience is led by a bright, succulent mango aroma that weaves seamlessly into the classic Weissbier profile of ripe banana and spicy clove. The addition of mango enhances the natural fruity esters of the weizen yeast, supported by a soft, doughy foundation of malted wheat and Pilsner malt. Effervescent and refreshing, it maintains the style's signature fluffy texture while offering a modern, fruit-forward finish that remains crisp and dry, perfectly capturing the spirit of a harmonious union between traditional brewing and bold fruit integration.
Appearance. Pale gold (4 SRM) with a pronounced hazy, luminous quality. It features a very thick, moussy, and long-lasting white head that leaves persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant notes of fresh, tropical mango and ripe banana esters are balanced by moderate spicy clove phenols. A light, bready and doughy wheat malt character provides a solid base with a faint hint of floral hops.
Taste. The initial impression is a burst of sweet mango and banana, quickly followed by soft, grainy wheat and Pilsner malt flavors. Bitterness is very low, allowing the fruit and spicy phenols to lead. The finish is relatively dry and clean with a lingering, well-rounded spicy clove aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a distinctively fluffy and creamy fullness. High carbonation provides a spritzy, effervescent mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is low and well-integrated with no astringency.
