Cecaelia is an intense Hazy IPA defined by a High Density Hop Charge (HDHC). It presents a saturated sensory profile driven by Citra, Citra Cryo, Incognito Citra, and Strata. The aroma explodes with concentrated pink grapefruit, tropical mango, and a distinct dank berry edge from the Strata. On the palate, the hop saturation provides layers of lime zest and passionfruit against a soft, bready malt backdrop. The mouthfeel is notably plush and smooth, typical of the style, while the finish remains juicy and approachable without harshness. This is a modern expression of hop density, focusing on extreme depth and aromatic impact.
Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM). Opaque, hazy appearance with a vibrant glow. Topped by a dense, white, rocky head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma. Dominant notes of tropical mango, lychee, and bright grapefruit from the Citra variants, complemented by a complex herbal and strawberry-like nuance from Strata. Background malt is neutral and lightly bready; fermentation is clean with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of tropical juice and citrus oil. Citra provides heavy layers of sweet orange and lime, while Strata adds depth with notes of passionfruit and a hint of resin. Low to moderate bitterness provides balance without being sharp. Finish is soft and off-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky texture. Moderate carbonation. Very smooth with no astringency or hop burn. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
