Porter 5 º 22 IBU
Oceánica Porter is a refined organic ale that captures the essence of a classic English Porter. The sensory experience is led by a sophisticated backbone of roasted barley malts, which impart deep flavors of bittersweet chocolate and toasted bread. A subtle, earthy hop profile provides a gentle balance to the initial caramel and toffee sweetness, while light fruity esters add a layer of complexity. It pours a rich, dark brown with mahogany highlights, offering a smooth, approachable character that emphasizes drinkability through its clean fermentation and well-integrated malt roastiness, avoiding any harsh or burnt notes.
Appearance. Deep brown in color with brilliant ruby highlights. Produces a moderate, light tan head with fair retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity of bready and toasty malt with a distinct chocolate roastiness. Features low earthy hop notes and a subtle hint of dark fruit esters; no detectable diacetyl.
Taste. Moderate toasted biscuit and caramel malt flavors are followed by a significant chocolate character. The hop bitterness is medium-low, providing a balanced, off-dry finish. Low levels of earthy hop flavor and faint nutty notes contribute to the complexity without any burnt or acrid qualities.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, lightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, and there is no perceived alcohol harshness or astringency.
