Smooth Run Hazy IPA captures the essence of a coastal journey with a vibrant, opaque golden pour topped by a resilient, meringue-like head. The sensory experience is dominated by an intense bouquet of Idaho 7, Citra, and Mosaic hops, delivering waves of ripe mango, passionfruit, and bright tangerine. On the palate, the juicy hop character is supported by a soft, bready malt backbone that provides a plush foundation for the citrus-forward profile. A velvety mouthfeel leads to a clean, off-dry finish with restrained bitterness, ensuring each sip remains incredibly refreshing and evocative of a tropical adventure in a Hazy IPA.
Appearance. Pales straw to light orange (5 SRM); opaque with a characteristic hazy shine. Large, white, rocky head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring crushed pineapple and stone fruit from Idaho 7, complemented by the distinct citrus zest and lychee notes of Citra and Mosaic. Background notes of neutral, grainy malt are present without any toast or caramel character. Fermentation profile is clean with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor, primarily mango, guava, and sweet grapefruit. The malt provides a soft, bready sweetness that balances the hop intensity. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the smooth, juicy texture and fuller body. The finish is clean and fruity with a lingering citrus aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth sensation without any astringency or hop burn. A subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at 6.7% ABV.
