This Northwest Pilsner reinterprets the classic German Pils by marrying a crisp, light-bodied lager structure with modern hop varieties. A clean fermentation allows the unique interplay of Belma and Styrian Wolf hops to shine, offering unconventional notes of strawberry, melon, and elderflower alongside a firm bitterness. A base of continental Pilsner malt provides a subtle toasted cracker and grainy foundation, ensuring the beer remains balanced despite its aromatic intensity. Brilliant gold with a tenacious white head, it finishes remarkably dry and snappy, delivering a refreshing profile that honors traditional technique while embracing regional hop innovation.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (2-4 SRM), brilliant clarity, with a creamy, long-lasting white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high hop intensity featuring unique notes of elderflower, passion fruit, and lemon from the Styrian Wolf dry hop, complemented by subtle strawberry and melon from Belma hops. Low grainy-sweet and toasted cracker malt character. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial grainy malt flavor is quickly overcome by a firm hop bitterness and complex flavors of melon, citrus, and floral berries. Medium to high bitterness that lingers into a very dry, crisp finish. The balance is decidedly hop-forward while maintaining a clean, minerally lager character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation, providing a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel. Smooth with no alcohol warmth and a sharp, clean finish.
