This American IPA is a sharp, modern tribute to the West Coast tradition, emphasizing a lean malt backbone and high attenuation. The aroma is dominated by a pungent, dank intensity where Strata hops provide deep layers of passion fruit and herbal resin, complemented by the bright grapefruit and pine needle notes of Simcoe. On the palate, a clean, grainy malt presence stays in the background, allowing a firm, crisp bitterness to lead into a bone-dry finish. Refreshing and vibrant, it avoids the softness of oats to deliver a classic, resin-forward profile with exceptional clarity and a lingering, hoppy bite.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber (6-9 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a medium-sized, off-white head with excellent persistence and consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with a complex blend of resinous pine, dank herbs, and vibrant tropical fruit—specifically passion fruit and grapefruit. Supporting malt is low and clean, with a neutral grainy character and a completely clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Strong hop flavors of grapefruit, passion fruit, and resinous pine dominate the palate. Malt flavor is low and neutral-grainy, providing a lean foundation for a firm, high hop bitterness. The balance is decidedly hop-forward, leading to a very dry, clean finish with a long-lasting, bitter, and hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively mouthfeel. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present, with no astringency or harshness.
