Nurme Whisperer is a hybrid-leaning German Pils that bridges the gap between European tradition and New World vibrancy. While the base offers the crisp, clean foundation of a classic lager, the inclusion of Australian Enigma hops introduces an elegant, fruity complexity not usually found in the style. Expect a refined interplay of light, grainy malt and the Enigma-driven notes of red currant, melon, and subtle resinous undertones. It captures the assertive, refreshing bitterness of a West Coast IPA while maintaining the high drinkability and dry, snap-like finish of a continental pilsner.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (3–4 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Pours with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves persistent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity featuring Enigma-derived notes of berry, stone fruit, and a hint of tropical melon, backed by a subtle spicy-herbal resin. Low grainy-sweet malt character provides a clean, cracker-like background. Free of esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Starts with a clean, doughy malt sweetness that is quickly superseded by a sharp, firm hop bitterness. Flavors of red currant and melon dominate the mid-palate, leading into a very dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste is long and bitter, with a lingering minerality and floral hop presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation, contributing to a lively and refreshing texture. It finishes clean with no astringency and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth given its slightly elevated strength.
