Distant Chemistry is a vibrant Hazy IPA showcasing the synergy between Freestyle Hops and Lallemand’s Pomona yeast. Utilizing the thiol-enriched Mega Terps blend alongside the 2024 batch of The Bruce hop mix, the beer explodes with a saturated tropical profile. Expect an intense aromatic burst of passionfruit and guava leading into a juicy palate defined by succulent mango, bright lime, and zestful citrus. The yeast provides a clean, fruity ester base that complements the massive double dry-hop additions, while a soft, pillowy texture ensures the 7% ABV remains dangerously drinkable, finishing with a refined, fruit-forward smoothness.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (4-6 SRM) with a significant, opaque haze that gives the liquid a luminous glow. It is topped by a thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity and profoundly tropical, driven by thiols and New Zealand hops. Dominant notes of ripe mango, passionfruit, and lime zest are layered over a clean, bready malt backdrop. No herbal or grassy notes are present, replaced by a concentrated fruit-punch character.
