This Hazy IPA collaboration presents a vibrant tapestry of Southern Hemisphere and Pacific Northwest hops. The heavy inclusion of Rakau, Galaxy, Motueka, and Citra creates a saturated tropical profile of passionfruit, lime zest, and ripe apricot. The addition of YCH 303 Trial Blend enhances the depth of juicy biotransformation notes, offering hints of sauvignon blanc and crushed pineapple. It pours with a thick, glowing opacity and a soft, pillowy texture that carries the intense fruit flavors without harshness. The finish is remarkably smooth, balancing a delicate sweetness with a restrained, clean bitterness that highlights the complex hop oil integration.
Appearance.Color is a glowing straw to light orange (4-6 SRM); opaque with a substantial, uniform haze. The head is white, rocky, and meringue-like with very high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma.Intensity is high, dominated by tropical fruit, citrus, and stone fruit. Notes of passionfruit, mango, and lime zest are prominent. Malt character is low and neutral, providing a lightly bready background. Fermentation esters are fruity and supportive of the intense hop profile.
Taste.High fruity hop flavors of pineapple, apricot, and citrus juice lead the palate. Malt flavor is low and grainy-sweet, serving as a soft foundation. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, smooth and well-integrated. The finish is off-dry and lingering with a juicy hop aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel.Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. No astringency or hop burn is present, with a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
