This Hazy IPA pours with Northern Monk’s signature thick opacity, delivering an intense sensory experience driven by a Golden Axis of New Zealand hops. The aromatic profile is led by the unique combination of Luminosa, Waimea, Wai-iti, and The Bruce, which provide a punchy tropical fruit character. Expect layers of ripe apricot and succulent peach intertwined with exotic citrus and a bright touch of lemon. The palate follows suit, offering a massive fruit-forward expression balanced by a soft, bready malt backbone. It exemplifies the style with its luscious, juicy profile and a restrained bitterness that allows the complex Southern Hemisphere hop oils to shine.
Appearance. Color is a deep gold to light orange (5-6 SRM). The beer is opaque with a substantial haze and a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that displays excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring stone fruit (apricot, peach), tropical fruit, and distinct exotic citrus and lemon zest. Low, clean, bready malt character in the background; fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with intense peach and tropical notes. Malt flavor is low to medium-low, providing a neutral, grainy base. Bitterness is moderate and smooth, never harsh. The finish is off-dry and juicy with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and rounded mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no perceived astringency or harshness.
