Northern Monk have got together with Beak and Verdant to brew The Ascension, a banging Double IPA, leading with pine on the nose followed by layers of tropical and citrus flavour.
Northern Monk say “Starting with a classic New England grist of wheat and flaked oats, Simcoe in the whirlpool lends a piney backbone, underpinning layer upon layer of smooth, sweet tropical and juicy citrus flavours from Citra and El Dorado. As we approach the final act of Smug’s Patrons Project honing in on larger than life ABVs and heavy-hitting haze, it would be remiss to not call on the expertise of two of the very best to do it in the UK. Our fifth edition transcends the North-South divide in the pursuit of hazy IPA perfection, teaming up with the South coast’s Verdant and Beak.”
