Northern Monk HOP CITY 2026 // DOUBLE DRY HOPPED IPA
This Hazy IPA is a vibrant sensory showcase, delivering an intensely juicy profile born from a collaborative Double Dry Hopped treatment. A soft, opaque base of oats and wheat supports a massive bouquet of tropical and citrus notes, prominently featuring sweet peach, ripe mango, and zesty orange. Sharp passionfruit and bright lime provide a crisp counterpoint to the bready malt backbone. The experience is exceptionally smooth, emphasizing a 'juicy' hop expression over aggressive bitterness, resulting in a lush, lingering texture that celebrates the modern hop-forward aesthetic with balance and drinkability.
Appearance. SRM 3-6. Opaque, straw to light orange in color with a luminous haze. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical and citrus fruit. Notable layers of sweet peach, mango, and passionfruit are complemented by a bright lime zest. Low bready and grainy malt character from the oats and wheat remains supportive in the background.
Taste. Massively hop-forward with high fruit flavor. Initial impressions of juicy orange and peach lead into a complex tropical mid-palate of mango and sharp passionfruit. Malt flavor is low to moderate, presenting as fresh bread or floury grain. Bitterness is low to medium-low and very smooth, leading to an off-dry, fruit-filled finish with no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture derived from the heavy use of flaked grains. Moderate carbonation with very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no astringency.

For this year’s Hop City release we’ve put all our energy into just one product. Giving it the care and attention it deserves. The result is an uber juicy, unbelievably drinkable DDH IPA, with orange, sweet peach, mango, sharp passionfruit and bright lime filling all your senses.
On a rich hazy base made with oats and wheat, it’s got a long lingering texture to keep the flavours flowing.
The beer showcases Indie Hops’ Luminosa and Strata, El Dorado from Crosby Hops, and Galaxy and Citra in enhanced liquid format from Barth HaasX; all of these varieties made available by our festival sponsor, Brewers Select.
As always, we’ve called on some of the best breweries around to join the fun; in the shape of Glasshouse (UK), Garage (Spain), and Messorem (Canada). It really does take a whole city.
