This American Pale Ale presents a modern, hop-forward profile defined by a vibrant trio of Amarillo CGX, Idaho-7, and Bru-1. The sensory experience is dominated by a concentrated burst of tropical passionfruit and lush peach, underscored by subtle notes of pineapple and bright citrus. A clean, neutral malt base provides a light bready backbone, allowing the high-intensity hop character to shine without being overshadowed by caramel or heavy sweetness. The finish is crisp and dry, highlighting a firm but approachable bitterness that invites another sip, showcasing the precision and freshness characteristic of a small-batch Northern Monk release.
Appearance. Pale golden (approx. 6 SRM) with a moderately large, frothy white head exhibiting good retention and fine lacing. Generally clear with a very slight, modern protein haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, ripe peach, and tropical pineapple. Low grainy-sweet maltiness supports the hops. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Leading with high hop flavors of peach and tropical fruit. Moderate to high hop bitterness provides balance against a low, bready malt character. No significant caramel is present. The finish is dry and clean with lingering hop resin and stone fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation. Smooth and crisp on the palate with no astringency and very light alcohol warmth.
