This Hazy IPA presents a vibrant tapestry of tropical and citrus notes, characteristic of Northern Monk’s contemporary hop-forward approach. The aroma is dominated by high-intensity waves of ripe mango, passionfruit, and crushed pineapple, supported by a subtle, grainy malt backbone. On the palate, the fruit expression intensifies, leaning into soft stone fruit and bright orange zest. Despite the massive hop presence, the bitterness remains restrained and smooth, leading into an off-dry finish that emphasizes juice-like qualities over resinous snap. A lush, pillowy texture defines the experience, making this 6.5% ale both substantial and remarkably refreshing.

Appearance. SRM 4-6; Straw to deep gold with a saturated, opaque haze that gives the beer a luminous shine. Topped with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that demonstrates excellent retention and leaves thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop-driven bouquet featuring prominent notes of tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) and citrus (tangerine). Very low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character in the background. Neutral fermentation profile with subtle esters that complement the fruit-forward hops; no harsh grassiness or herbal notes.

Taste. Explodes with fruity hop flavors—predominantly stone fruit and citrus juice. Malt flavor is low and lightly bready, providing a soft foundation. Bitterness is low to medium-low perceived, effectively masked by a full, soft body. The balance is heavily skewed toward hop flavor, finishing clean with a lingering fruity aftertaste without any hop burn or astringency.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the smooth delivery. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth appropriate for the 6.5% ABV. Lacks any harshness, acidity, or raw starchiness.
