Lagoon presents a vibrant Hazy IPA profile defined by its luminous opacity and explosive aromatics. The sensory journey begins with an intense wave of tropical fruit and ripe stone fruit, underpinned by a distinctive hoppy dankness that adds a resinous, earthy depth to the juicy core. A subtle background of grainy, bready malt provides a soft platform for these intense hop expressions without introducing cloying caramel or toast. On the palate, the experience is creamy and remarkably smooth, showcasing a pillowy texture that artfully masks a moderate bitterness. The finish is clean and off-dry, leaving a lingering impression of citrus zest and pineapple.
Appearance. Luminous straw to deep gold (4–6 SRM) with a pronounced, opaque haze that offers a healthy shine. Topped by a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick, persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex blend of passion fruit, mango, and sweet citrus. A notable dank, resinous hop undertone balances the primary fruitiness. Low bready and grainy malt notes persist in the background; fermentation is clean with supportive esters.
Taste. Immediate impact of juicy tropical fruit and peach flavors. Hop bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and well-integrated. Malt flavor is low, suggesting fresh flour and lightly kilned grain. The finish is smooth and off-dry, devoid of any harsh hop burn or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and rounded texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to the plush sensation. Alcohol provides a very subtle, well-integrated warmth. No raw starch texture or acidic twang is present.
